The Day Awards (partnership) were broadcast on 30th September on Day Translations’ YouTube channel and you can watch the full ceremony here:

The ceremony was hosted by Alejandra Fonseca and Milos Milosevic from the Marketing Team.

The CEO and founder of Day Translations, Sean Patrick Hopwood, opened the ceremony with his speech about the language industry and the linguistic community, praising the transformational power of language services and the tireless work of language professionals. Over the course of 16 years Day Translations has provided a bridge to bring people together through effective communications, while also balancing the disruptive effect of new technology such as AI with the essential and irreplaceable input of human translators.

The categories for the Day Awards 2024 were:

Best Translated Book 2024

Best Linguist Industry Tool 2024

Best Localized Movie 2024

Best Localized TV Show 2024.

There were also internal categories to celebrate the work of Day Translations’ international staff members, as well as two new categories, Best External Translator 2024 and Best External Interpreter 2024.

The winner of Best Localized Video Game 2024 is Hogwarts Legacy, which has been localised in 10 languages and is supported in 20 languages through subtitles.

The winner of Best Translated Book 2024 is Beyond the Door of No Return, the story of a French botanist travelling to Africa.

The winner of Best Linguist Industry Tool 2024 is memoQ, offering flexible translation and localisation solutions.

The winner of Best Localized Movie 2024 is Inside Out, which managed to create a successful localisation campaign.

The winner of Best Localized TV Show 2024 is Three Body Problems, a UK and China production.
